221. If I Were Starting My Coaching Business Again, Here’s Exactly What I’d Do

Hello, hello and welcome back to Rising Coaches with Sofia Bernardi.

Today’s episode is inspired by a really great question I got from one of my clients inside Scale School, and I wanted to answer it here on the podcast because I know so many of you are either starting your coaching business or feeling like you’re starting over — pivoting, re-niching, relaunching, rebuilding momentum.

The question was:
“Sofia, if you were starting your business again, what would you do?”
And then she really cutely added at the end, “Aside from of course being inside Scale School.”

The short, honest answer is — I would do exactly what I teach inside Scale School.
It’s a simple multi-step process broken into three core pillars: Sustainable Strategy, Seamless Sales, and Simple Systems. And all throughout every part of that is deep-rooted mindset and energetics work.

Because anyone can follow a simple step-by-step system — the books, the YouTube videos, the courses — but not everyone does it. Despite having the answer in front of them, they don’t do it.

So the real question is — what’s stopping people from actually doing the process?

What I’d Actually Do If I Were Starting AgainI created Scale School because it’s the exact process I followed — from $0, no experience, no idea what I was doing at 22 years old — to now, my biggest cash month: an $83,000 month in a coaching business that feels aligned, spacious, and deeply fulfilling.

There’s no secret niche, perfect “I help” statement, magic content format, or algorithm hack.
What works?

Most coaches don’t need a new strategy.
They need to do the reps.
Business is a compound game. You grow by going all in on a few core things and doing them over and over and over.

Why Scale School is 12 Months Long

Yes, you can reach 30k in your first month. Some people do.
But usually, they’ve taken action for years before that. They’ve done the mindset work. They’ve built the identity required to scale quickly.

If you don’t have that, you have to do the reps to get it. You don’t just read a book or follow a prompt — you build it through doing.

Master the Basics

You don’t just pick a niche. You master it.
You don’t just write an offer. You obsess over it.
You don’t just post and hope. You position daily across multiple touchpoints.

  • Focus on getting better at the basics instead of chasing trends

What Helped Me Trust the Process

  • Having a coach who had the results I wanted
  • Working part-time jobs so I wasn’t financially dependent on my business at the start
  • Keeping those jobs until I consistently replaced my income

Business Is About Who You’re BeingTwo people can follow the same process. One grows fast. One spins their wheels for years.
The difference? Mindset, energy, and identity.

Ask yourself:

  • Are you showing up like a CEO or a scared beginner?
  • Are you trusting yourself or second-guessing everything?
  • Are you creating momentum or collapsing every time something gets hard?
  • Do you feel safe holding wealth or worried about what others will think?

Yes, the Fears Might Happen — and That’s Okay

Over 5.5 years, I’ve faced:

  • Nasty comments from high school friends
  • Family telling me to get a “real job”
  • My own dad calling what I do “embarrassing”
  • People blocking me, projecting onto me, criticizing me

And through it all — I never stopped.
And that’s what it takes.

Scale School teaches both the strategy and the identity required to grow sustainably — because you can’t scale if you don’t feel safe doing so.
